MYWEBSTAR GOING GREEN
Going GREEN!!
MYWEBSTAR is pleased to announce we have made real improvements in our efforts to go GREEN! Starting January 1, 2008 we began replacing all our high wattage incandescent bulbs with energy star low wattage fluorescents. MYWEBSTAR completed the upgrade on January 9, 2008 to both locations.
On February 1, 2008 MYWEBSTAR will begin adding solar panels to reduce our consumption of electricity, our main location has over 3000 square feet of open roof that is ideally located to produce over 40% of the electricity we need in our daily operations. Solar won't get us all the way there, and we are looking at installing a wind turbine to further lower our energy dependence.
On February 25, 2008 MYWEBSTAR will begin replacing our Wi-Fi access points in Pocahontas with solar panels with battery backups. The improvements here will eliminate dependence on 3rd party power providers to operate the equipment. Now that power requirements for access points, repeaters and routers can all be handled by our solar solution, users can expect faster deployment of new locations.
It is our hope that we can help in some small way to reduce the damage caused to our planet from wasteful electricity and burning of fossil fuels. MYWEBSTAR will continue to seek ways of lowering our uses of electricity, natural gas and gasoline.
MYWEBSTAR continues to use recycled paper for all our mailing materials, and continues to use electronic billing presentment and payment for all our customers that will use it, and urge those customers who have not yet switched to electronic billing and payment to please do so and save a tree.
